About Us

Komugi began as a small dream and has grown into a bakery built on friendship, family, and a love of sharing the taste of home.

Five years ago, Misaki, originally from Okinawa, started Komugi after moving to the U.S. more than a decade ago.

In August 2025, she partnered with Maiko, who is from the Tokyo area five years ago, and Chika, who moved from Osaka three years ago.

Chika

Together, the three women brought their experiences, traditions, and creativity into one kitchen.

Each of them is raising families here in Andover, and their children are some of Komugi’s biggest fans. The foods they make at home, simple, comforting, and full of love, are the same flavors they want to share with you.

At Komugi, everything is made with care, by hand, using all-natural ingredients with no preservatives. From rice sourced directly from Japan to bread baked fresh each day, every item is prepared the way they would make it for their own families.

Komugi isn’t just a bakery. It’s a piece of Japan, a taste of home, and a warm welcome from Misaki, Maiko, and Chika to you.
